I was considering making this post a series with a bit more detail about each venue, but reckon it's probably more useful all mixed into one. Feel free to chip in with the comments if you feel I've missed anything worth a mention.

Every time I arrive in a new city, place, island, church, whatever... I wonder were to find the "real" good places. You know, they throw tons of tourist information papers at you at the tourist information counters, but as the word implies, its "tourist" information and not what I am really looking for.

1. Newly Hip: One Fullerton

Vienna has a lot to offer in the way of entertainment. It isn’t called the cultural capital of Europe for nothing. Amazing theater, opera, museums, balls, concerts, you name it they have it here. Yeah okay, that’s all really great if you want to be proud of yourself for being so cultured. I myself like doing the above. But sometimes, some of us just want to go out and shamelessly party.

Places like Melt you can only find in Leblon.  A lounge where models meat their admirers in a lounge with candles.  Expensive drinks, colorful cocktails.  On the 1st floor there is a, quite small for the number of people, dance floor.

I can still remember when the Burswood Casino first opened up here in Perth in the mid-1980s. It was a big sensation for this coming-of-age city to get its first casino, and back then dress standards were strict and queues were long.

I'm not going to detail a list of the best clubs in Barcelona in this post, just a few tips and pieces of information that you might need to know or that will be helpful when you go out to sample the nightlife in Barcelona.

Tucked away down a tiny side street, gecko is a great place for private parties (birthday party) and cozzy after-dinner watering hole. It's the in-the-know locals' favourite. Chill-out in cosy sofas on weekday evenings with piano music, jamming sessions, or live jazz. Weekends get raucous with DJs spinning electronic dance beats.
