One of the most interesting places to visit in Fremantle, Perth's port town, is the Fremantle Prison. From the 1850s until quite recently - 1991, in fact - the prison was used to house Western Australian prisoners, after being built by convict labour.
Now that it's no longer a working prison, there are a number of different ways you can tour it, including the standard day tour, a torchlight (and slightly scary) evening tour, and a physically more testing tour of the tunnels that were dug under the prison.
