A Round of Golf in Perth

With the Johnnie Walker Classic golf tournament finishing up in Perth last week, tourist eyes might be pretty excited about the golfing possibilities in Western Australia's capital. And with good reason - we're a city that's built across a huge area meaning there is plenty of room for golf courses. Some of the most popular one for visitors to play a round include:

  • Burswood Park Golf Course, right next to the Intercontinental Burswood Hotel and the Burswood Casino, is probably the most popular destination for tourists who want to include a round of golf in their Perth trip.
  • The Vines Resort and Country Club is a golf course in the Swan Valley, the vineyard region on the outskirts of Perth. There is a Novotel resort within the complex so again, it's a popular place for visitors to stay as well as play golf.
  • Wembley Golf Complex is the largest public golf course in the city, and is a short distance from the city centre. There's a choice of two different 18-hole courses there and equipment hire here is more reasonable than at other courses.

There are dozens of other golf courses in Perth, depending on your budget and transport. But in general, golf is so cheap in Perth that many tourists from other countries decide to make their first attempt at playing golf here because it's so much cheaper than their home countries.
