An essential ingredient of any holiday is to sun yourself in the pool and that is exactly what I did today; I went swimming, Icelandic style. Since they have to find something to do with all that geothermally heated water, Reykjavik has an abundance of swimming pools.

While the Olympics do not bring anywhere near the madness that the European Soccer Championships recently brought to Amsterdam, there are plenty of top Dutch athletes representing the Netherlands in Beijing for the 2008 summer games. Barton Springs. It will be a miracle if I get my work done before relinquishing all control to the shimmering clear water calling me from afar. Being an Austinite means quitting work early in the summer. We love our springs. We love our happy hour after the springs (happy hour and the springs is not reserved for Fridays by any means).
