By now Singapore is most famous for its popular laws against Chewing Gums, executing Drug traffickers and being the cleanest city of the world. The more advanced tourist will also be aware of the Durian fruit, the Merlion, Sentosa and probably the first F1 night race. That’s it. Boring.

While the Subway and buses may be the cheapest ways to travel around New York City (walking is the absolute least expensive!), they aren't always the most convenient way to get around. Taxis, or taxicabs, are often a better choice if you want to get somewhere fast, and have door-to-door services.

Sometimes, you don't feel like eating a food as simple as a hot dog. You might crave something a little more exotic - but still budget friendly. Never fear - you're in New York City. The city is home to more cultures than you can find anywhere else in the United States, all in one small area.

Williamstown is a charming little maritime village only 15 minutes from Melbourne. Nelson Place, one of the main streets opposite the port is home to The Customs House Hotel. It is here that I took my husband and mum one cold Sunday lunchtime. With an English pub atmosphere, this place had some great food on the menu with a lot of old time favourites including chicken parmagiana and a huge seafood platter. I had the parma', which was very nice. The prices were reasonable and the carpeted floors provided a relaxed and cosy atmosphere to enjoy a hearty winter's lunch.
